Archer’s English-Style Pale Ale
Pours deep reddish-brown, dark without too much transparency and with good off-white head and steady carbonation. The nose is a sour, very English hoppy caramel with a few citrus notes but is more malt than hops. There is a slight roastiness and the hops are milder with the start of the sip than they are on the nose. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied but the swallow finishes fuller and maltier and would seem cloying were it not for the good hops which temper the toffee sweetness well.
